1. 都 +V/Adj. dōu+V/Adj.

d ōu” means all, and the total object must be placed before “dōu” or “all.” It can also be said “quándōu” .
“都” 表示总括全部，所总括的对象必须放在 “都” 前，也可以说 “全都”。

Drills:

英文、中文、日文、法文他 都 会说。
Yīnɡwén, Zhōnɡwén, Rìwén, Fǎwén tā dōu huì shuō.

北京和上海我 都 没去过。
Běi jīnɡ hé Shànɡhǎi wǒ dōu méi qù ɡuò.

这些汉字大华 都 不认识。
Zhèxiē hànzì Dàhuá dōu bù rènshi.

2. 只 + VP. zhǐ+ VP. (only)

zhǐ+ VP.” means that the object followed is in a limited range or is the only one.
“只 +VP.” 表示限于某个范围，除此之外，没有别的。

Drills:

他 只 会说英文。
Tā zhǐ huì shuō Yīnɡwén.

我 只 有一个中国朋友。
Wǒ zhǐ yǒu yī ɡè Zhōnɡɡuó pénɡyǒu .

我 只 去过北京，没去过上海。
Wǒ zhǐ qù ɡuò Běijīnɡ, méi qù ɡuò Shànɡhǎi.

3. 还 不 呢 hái bù ……ne (not yet)

“hái……ne” is followed by “ bù” or “méi” to indicate that a motion has not happened or completed yet. “hái bù ……ne” emphasizes the current or future situation, “hái méi ……ne” emphasizes what has happened in the past. Please refer to the grammar point in Lesson Eight.

“还……呢” 后面接 不 或 “没”，表示一个动作现在还未发生或尚未完成。 “还不……呢” 强调的是现在或是将来的情况，“还没……呢” 强调的是过去已经发生的情况。 参见 “第八课” 语法点。

Kuài yào chūɡuó le, wǒ hái bù zhīdào zěnme shēnqǐnɡ hùzhào ne

来公司工作一年了，我 还 不认识经理 呢
Lái ɡōnɡsī ɡōnɡzuò yī nián le, wǒ hái bù rènshi jīnɡlǐ ne

快要去中国了，我 还 不懂中国文化 呢
