1. 向 …+ VP xiàng…+ VP (to +VP)

“xiàng” means “to’’. It will be followed by a noun and the two parts will constitute the structure called ‘preposition-object’ phrase, which will be regarded as the adverbial of the verb in the sentence.
“向” 意思是 “对”，后面加名词形成介宾结构，整个介宾短语做后面动词的状语。

Drills:

经理 向 我们 介绍了公司的情况。
Jīnglǐ xiàng wǒmen jiè shào le gōngsī de qíngkuàng.

去年，日本 向 美国 出口了300万辆汽车。
qùnián，rì běn xiàng Měiguó chū kǒu le 300 wàn liàng qìchē.

我 向 老板 建议，我们应该去北京开分公司。
wǒ xiàng lǎobǎn jiànyì，wǒmen yīnggāi qù Běijīng kāi fēn.

2. 代 …+ VP dài …+ VP (take the place of)

“dài” means “on behalf of”. It is the adverbial of the verb in the sentence, and is followed by noun(s).
“代” 表示 “代替”，其后加名词构成介宾结构，整个介宾短语做动词的状语。

Drills:

明天我没时间去送大华，你 代 我去吧。
Míngtiān wǒ méi shíjiān qù sòng Dàhuá，nǐ dài wǒ qù bɑ.

明天大华要去中国了，请 代 我把这个礼物送给他。
Míngtiān Dàhuá yào qù Zhōngguó le，qǐng dài wǒ bǎ zhè gè lǐ wù sòng gěi tā.

我现在很忙，请你 代 我给小陈打个电话。
Wǒ xiànzài hěn máng，qǐng nǐ dài wǒ gěi xiǎo Chén dǎ gè diànhuà.

3. 随时 suíshí (at all times, any time)

“means whenever or any time”. It is placed before verb(s).
“随时” 意思是 “不论什么时候”，位于动词前面。

Drills:

你可以 随时 给我打电话。
Nǐ kěyǐ suíshí gěi wǒ dǎ diànhuà.

有问题你可以 随时 问我。
Yǒu wèntí nǐ kěyǐ suíshí

我已经准备好了，随时 可以出发。
Wǒ yǐjīng zhǔnbèi hǎo le，suíshí kěyǐ chūfā.

4. 一……就…… yī … jiù… (as soon as, at once after)

“yī …jiù…” means later motion happens immediately after the previous one.
“一……就……” 表示后一动作紧跟着前一动作发生。

Drills:

中文的语法不难，一 学 就 会。
Zhōngwén de yǔfǎ bù nán ，yī xué jiù huì.

我 一 下课 就 去公司工作。
Wǒ yī xià kè jiù qù gōngsī gōngzuò.

张先生 一 见到李小姐 就 爱上了她。
Zhāng xiānshēng yī jiàndào Lǐ xiǎojiě jiù jiù ài shàng le tā.

5. 祝…… zhù (wish)

“zhù” is put at the beginning of a wish or a toast. It can also be used when people say farewell to each other or make a wish at the end of a letter.
“祝” 表示良好的愿望，位于祝词之前，常用于分手时或信件的末尾。

祝 你工作顺利！
Zhù nǐ gōngzuò shùnlì！

祝 你们身体健康！
Zhù nǐmen shēntǐ jiànkāng！

祝 你越来越漂亮！
Zhù nǐ yuè lái yuè piàoliang！
